Bye Bye Fall Term !!

Here it is ... almost 2:30 in the morning and im hysterical. School is over for a couple of weeks and it feels good.
I probably got about 6 hours of sleep over the past 3 days. I survived and im excited to sleep in for the rest of the weekend. Sometimes school can be cool, but finals is not one of those times.
1 term down and 2 more to go and school will really be over for me. I've been in school for as long as I can remember and life may feel akward without it. Who knows.

By The Way ..

This Video Is Really Cool !!

Finals Week

This has to be the worst week of every students life. Even if you don't have that many finals, the atmosphere still drains you. Not many people are very happy go lucky during this time. Ive never recieved so many mean faces and gestures before in my entire life, well with the exception of finals last spring.
At this time of the year procrastination is at an all time high. Honestly, this blog is a product of my procrastination. But it is actually keeping me sane because I can express my feelings. But Personally, I know if I have a final on thursday, that means I can rest mon, tue, and half of wed. But somehow we students find the adequate amount of study time to do well on our finals.
On the flip side this time of the year somehow feels good. Looking around and seeing your classmates struggling for the same cause as you are somehow makes you feel better. I pulled an all-nighter on thurday. By far, one of the worst nights of my life. But I wasnt alone. And for some reason that made me feel better and actually helped me get throught the night. And there's no better feeling then nailing a test and walking out of the classroom knowing that all your studying paid off.
Well im gonna get something done. Until Next Time ..... Audios !!!!!!!

I like this whole blogging idea ... I will most definitely continue to blog beyond this semester .. Maybe I can get a couple of more followers .. LoL

When The 44th Became The 1st

On November 4th 2008, Barack Obama was elected to be the 44th president of the United States; He also became the first African American to claim the position.
Im blogging about the monumental presidential nomination a day late because I truly could not fathom what happened last night. And I was Celebrating.
It's truly difficult to put into the words what just happened last night. Many of my older family members were more than sure that would not live to see the day an African American would be president of the United States. We were fortunate enough to witnesss an event that will be in the history books, and there were no deaths, lies, or deceit involved, just the voice of the people. My first presidential election was a historical one.
So what does this mean for America? I think it means that Americans are ready for a change. Electing Barack Obama into office says that very clear. I think on a large scale we will see a United America, race will not be the cause of our division anymore. I think McCain would have brought a positive change in Washington, after all the nation can not go anywhere but up from where it is not (Hopefully). But the change Obama will bring will be on a worldwide scale. He will motivate many people and be an inspiration to children regardless of race. I believe that when people see Obama in office they will believe that anything is possible, for he is a personified version of overcoming anything. I think he will unite the African American Community and we will see a decrease in inner city violence. the possibilites are endless and Americans have spoken, out with the old and lets move in a different direction.

Prop 8 Is a Big Deal

In my home state of California, voter will vote on Proposition 8 tomorrow along with their favorite presedential candidate. The proposition is a state constitutional amendment on the 2008 election ballot that is titled ELIMINATES RIGHT OF SAME SEX COUPLES TO MARRY. The proposition will only recognize a marriage between men and women if the act is passed.
On this issue I'm somewhat in between. On one hand, I agree that individuals should have the right to wed anyone they wish. On the flipside, I feel that marriage is something that should be shared between and man and women. If I were home, and had to vote, I'm confident I would vote yes.
I would vote yes for a couple of reasons. One, for the reason that I stated above. Secondly, I think it is important for children to grow up with a mother and farther in the house. Children need that balance. A young boy should have a male figure in the home that can identify with and model himself after. A young lady should have the same thing. I think it important that we honor the true defintion of marriage, which is traditionally shared between a man and a women. There is also the issue of reproduction. Although there are ways for female homosexuals to have children, men are not presented with the same opportunity. Although the proposition will not eliminate homosexual relationships just conceal them, I think it is important that the issue is somewhat controlled.

A True Tragedy

By now, everyone is probably familiar with the Jennifer Hudson family tragedy. The former American Idol runner up recieved a phone call from her sister while on set shooting a film, to find out that her mother and her brother had been fatally wounded, and her nephew was missing. She would discover that her nephew was killed three days later.
This term im taking religious persons and traditions. Every since I enrolled into this course, it has open my eyes to see the true evil that goes on in our world. By no means was i ever blind to the issue, but now I look at situations like the Hudson tragedy and begin to realize what type of trouble we are in with senseless violence.
In religous class, we learned about the Parliament of World Religions, A conference that took place in Chicago of 1993 in order to define religions role in decreasing world violence. At the conferece, over 67 representatives from different countries and religions came up with four unequivocal committments that religion can increase the peace. The first suggestion promotes Non Violence and Respect for Human Life, something that we sincerely disregard
The first thing that popped into my mind when I first learned about the Hudson situation was "How could someone have such a low regard for the life of another human being." I was disgusted to say the least. I turn on the news everyday and read about many of the sick things that people do, but this by far struck me differently. Thinking about the state that Jennifer Hudson could be in almost brought me to tears. Losing her mother, which whom she was very close with, and her beloved brother and nephew.
One can only think is there anything that can be done to stop the senseless violence. Is there anything that can be done that will reach enough people and help them decide they wanna make a difference. I sure hope so, because the world we're living in has a lot of problems, and it is only getting worse.
